How to get to Lefkada
It is very easy to get to the island of Lefkada via the floating bridge that connects the island to Aetolia-Acarnania.
By car:
From Athens: Via the Athens-Corinth national road, the Rio-Antirrio Bridge and Motorway 5 (Ionia Odos). When in Amfilochia, take the road to Vonitsa and then the road to Lefkada. The total distance from Athens is 370km.
From northern Greece: By taking the Egnatia Motorway you will get to Ioannina, and from there follow the road to Preveza. Drive through the Aktio undersea tunnel and then follow the road to Lefkada. The distance from Thessaloniki is 385km.
By KTEL intercity bus:
Lefkada KTEL buses run several routes from Athens and Thessaloniki to Lefkada on a daily basis. For more information you can visit the Lefkada KTEL website here.
By airplane:
Aktio airport is only 25km from Lefkada. Once you arrive at the airport, you can catch a taxi or rent a car to get to Lefkada, which is only 20 minutes away.
By sailboat:
The island has a marina in the town of Lefkada.
By ferry:
Lefkada has ferry connections to the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca.
